Bujarra

Bujarra is a medium-sized coastal town on the north-eastern fringe of the Sandblight desert. Bujarra serves as an important hub for caravans and merchants in their journeys to the northern Nerathian Kingdoms or the southern territories of Al-Sur. Bujarra has always maintained its own neutrality in conflicts largely because it lacks any real strategic value beyond its merchant wealth.

The town itself if located at the end of a string of peaks that border the desert. Overlooking the town is an abandoned fortress at the top of one of these peaks. The fortress, while once formidable, has never been used in living memory as a powerful lich roams its corridors, preventing any concerted effort at fortifying the town.

More recently, Bujarra found itself at the center of the growing conflict between the northern and southern kingdoms when a huge force comprised of northerners calling themselves the Servants of Din arrived. In an attempt to resist the northern advance, a much smaller force of Dragonborn soldiers, acting on behalf of all southern peoples under the banner of the Sons of the South, took it upon themselves to organize the defense of the town. Their leader, a Dragonborn named Getsuga, contracted with a band of mysterious adventurers, led by Thomas Hardwill, to clear-out the abandoned keep above the city for use by the Sons. Unfortunately for Bujarra, after the adventurers ascended into the keep, the fortress was completely destroyed when a monstrous dracolich tore its way free of the mountainside fastness. The dracolich descended upon the town and burned most of the inhabitants where they stood. In short order, the entire southern defense was routed and the town’s ruins abandoned to the advancing Servants of Din.
